Google Bang University

Once when I was a student (1993-1999), I once read a book of popular philosophy which is very useful advice for the development of my insights to this day. The writer, I forget his name, said that the key to open the science that is asked.

Not like now, before when there was a question in my mind, it will automatically appear the building of the local library in my brain. Library is the only place that is able to answer questions at no cost with no interaction with emotion. My favorite library is the library of the province of Yogyakarta, located in the area Pingit. This library in addition to collecting thousands of books, also easily accessible from the campus and I rented houses.
Tempatnyapun comfortable because this library has a large desk and clean, quiet room and fresh and complemented the cafeteria for lunch and smoke cigarettes, and a small mosque to pray and a nap.

To answer some questions raised in my mind, I must nongkrongin's library for hours. Often I have to visit the library's beloved when security guards just a few seconds to open the door and come home five minutes before the friendly security guard closed the door.

During nine hours I diperpustakaan, from 8 o'clock in the morning until five in the afternoon, an hour I used to eat, pray and sleep chickens in the local Mosque. The rest, about two hours searching for book titles required in the room size of approximately 600 m2, two hours to read the preface and table of contents of books that are targeted, and only about four hours of time that I use to read and record the necessary information. Of the four-hour process of holding the books were very little sentence structure can I read, so very little that can I noted. From the little information that I noted was that even less is what I remember. From the little that I can remember that, far fewer and more useful information I need.

If I'm not satisfied with what I found in the library area, then I should get around to the book sales centers in Yogyakarta, such as in shopping, Scholastic, in Cik Di Tiro, or Gejayan Road. I often sneak into the great library campuses that are not just having a strange collection of books, rare and expensive, but also managed by a sophisticated computer system, such as the GMU Library, and libraries STIE YKPN risk if caught out in all the local students are not .

With the advent of google, I get very rarely visit the library, I also very rarely read books, except books of novels and several books at bedtime. I often visit Google, a search engine that was so sophisticated that is able to collect various information from around the world and present it to us in seconds.

I prefer Google because of the time it takes to get the knowledge I need to tens of times faster, hundreds of times more effective and probably (because I've never counted them) thousands of times more efficient.

When the question arises dibenak me, I do not need to move from where I sit, I just ordered Google to find information I need to type the key word in the box to the front yard site. Then, in seconds, hundreds of web appear before me. I just choose the web, read quickly the information I need, close it if not found, read it if you attract attention, and then record it onto a computer hard drive if needed.

The presence of Google is used by 74% of journalists from around the world, has changed the tradition and my learning style. I no longer need to spend lots of time to visit the library to the library one another, from one bookstore to another bookstore. I do not need to tired to walk from one bookshelf to another bookshelf to find books that I need. And I also do not need to run out of time to record, because the information required to stay in the store on my computer hard drive with one click so that thousands of sentences can be stored and can be re-read if an when required.

In short, Google does not just become my closest near campus, but also a great teacher who is able to change the structure of my knowledge. I became a voracious eater information.

I know that after I open the file brangkas storage of information in my computer. I was amazed to see its contents. Not impressed with myself, but was amazed with how Google is able to point me in the draw of science.

I found dozens of folders that deal with issues of philosophy, religion, social change, the problem of the world economy, national economy, entrepreneurship, marketing, public relation's, journalism, how to learn, how to write, how to design, play guitar handy, photography, technique hunting techniques fishing, and dozens of other folders. Oddly enough, dozens of folders, sub folders hundreds, and thousands of files that contain information and knowledge that I have largely amalkan all. That is, the information collected it really has been useful in my everyday life. Not a waste of information and knowledge (not required) that is often fed by our teachers and lecturers during dibangku school.

Google is not just a search site, but has become a university of life, an institution and a source of scientific development that includes various branches of science. I can learn through Google without paying a penny.

Because of the presence of Google, I have also begun to abandon the tradition of 'nyantrik', which often do I do first, namely the tradition of visiting someone knowledgeable, ntah professor, Doctor ntah, philosophers or thinkers, to gain knowledge and their knowledge. For me, Google is a maid without interest, Google is a professor, a doctor, a philosopher, a thinker, a super-large library, and a giant university.

In the year 2008, when I served as Assistant Director at the Academy of Management Company III Panca Bhakti for approximately 1.5 years, I did the small-scale research. Google introduces me as a great university to a group of my students. At first I introduce them with internet technology in the office, cafe or cybercafe is my lease specifically. I train them to type the keyword on Google in order to become independent learners. The result is nearly 90% of them are today far more independent (own money) than other students. They are more confident, more capable of looking way out in overcoming their problems of living, better able to become human rather than robots.

Once confident with the results of small-scale research, and with other campus administrators I attempt to bring the Internet on campus for free. Through the assistance of H. Gusti Syamsumin, Member of Parliament who is also an educator who is very wise, we get the funding from central government. Most of those funds we alkoasikan to create a complete computer lab with internet access inside. I hope the presence of computer labs that students can be familiar with Google and make it as a major university in a small campus.

Alhamdulillah, the lab with Internet access and the University of Google in it successfully built on the small campus. After standing, so I resigned as manager of the campus.
